OverviewFIRST Robotics Team 1477 Texas Torque is a high school robotics team out of The Woodlands, TX dedicated to giving our members hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Outreach

At Texas Torque, we employ our resources and influence as community leaders to act as a vehicle for extending the reach of STEM throughout our area.

Teamwork

Through student interaction, team members find a collaborative and engaging environment that facilitates creativity, inspiration, and growth.

Programs

Our team works to strengthen the presence of STEM by founding, mentoring, and supporting both local and international FIRST teams.

Texas Torque won the Judge’s Award at their first ever appearance at the Madtown Throwdown in Madera, California on November 11 and 12. Many thanks to host Team 1323.

“First” Meeting of the 2012 Season

Torque had their first meeting of the season on October 28th. It was a great meeting where everyone got to introduce themselves and then jump into learning about the skills they would need next season by working on getting the competition robot and practice robots back in shape.

Torque Makes Quarterfinal Appearance at IRI

Team 1477: Texas Torque out of the Woodlands, TX made an appearance in the eliminations at the Indiana Robotics Invitational, an event dubbed FIRST’s All-Star Game along with their friends the Robonauts, 118 from League City, TX and the WiredCats, 2415 from Atlanta, GA.

The team demonstrated their robot to around 200 children during the Wonders of the Woodlands, a event put together to teach children about how the natural sciences and the world around them interact.
