Recycle Rush is the 2015 FIRST Robotics Competition game set on a 27 feet by 54 feet field separated into two halves by a step with recycling cans set on top. The two alliances, each composed of three robots, aimed to score the maximum amount of points by stacking totes with recycling cans on top of them. In autonomous mode, many teams aim to grab the cans on the center steps to increase the score of their stacks. This game has multiple new twists, with no defense and team ranks based on averages rather than a win-lose system in matches. Recycle Rush is based heavily on industrial needs and designs, pushing teams to design robust and efficient robots.
